Taking on a Challenge

This morning I started my day off with a lovely bowl of oats ( I know, I ‘m boring!) and then headed off on a run.

The plan for today was just to run, well, more like make it through my run. My foot has been in so much pain lately due to the plantar fasciitis. I even had to take a day off on Saturday and not run because it hurt so bad :( Because there is so much pain in my foot, I have backed off a lot on my running and it sucks :( I’m not a happy girl, but I am trying to make the most of it. I’m just nervous because I have a race in 7 weeks!!! I have never had so much pain in my foot or anywhere when I run, this is a first for me. Lately the most I can do is 4 miles before the pain becomes unbearable, and lucky for me the pain is slowing me down, not something I am liking either, I live to run fast! So, today I set off on a run I was able to do 7 miles but realized I had done to much because at the end of my run, I think I was doing more of a shuffle than a run. I am not happy about this at all :(

The rest of the day was spent running errands and doing stuff around the house. Since Fiance has Mondays off we try to get as much stuff done as we can together so later in the week no one is left doing things alone plus it gives us more time together :)

Todays Agenda:
-Run-done
-Yard Work-done
-Target-done
-Grocery Shopping-done
-Blogging-done
-Laundry (lots of it!)-done
-Wash Cars-done
-Yoga @ 500 (for me)-done
-Football Game (For Fiance, he watched this while I was at yoga)-done

Today was busy but we managed to get it all done! :) I love having Fiance he makes things around the house so much easier, he seriously is an amazing guy and works so hard for us! I am truly blessed! He even had dinner (BBQ chicken and roasted vegetables) ready for me when I got home from yoga! I love him!  (Sorry no picture, I was starving and just wanted to enjoy time with the fiance without whipping out my camera!)

Challenge
So, I have decided to take on a challenge. The challenge is a 30 day yoga challenge! For the month of December I will be doing yoga everyday for 30 days. Granted there are 31 days in December, I will have to miss one day due to graduation and the festivities that are followed in that day!

I will be doing this Challenge with Bobbi from NHERSHOES. I am super excited!

I will be using Bobbi's rules:

The rules are simple: For a day to qualify, there must be a minimum of 20 minutes of structured yoga. For me, this means some sort of guided yoga, like yogadownload.com’saudio sessions, yoga videos, or an in-person class. I officially start the challenge onWednesday December 1st and it will run through the 31st!

I hope to document on this blog my journey through this challenge. My post will include, my progress throughout this 30 day challenge, what I am learning, physical and mental changes, the difficulty of this challenge, and any insights. I know this will not be easy, especially with graduation in 2 weeks, holidays, and training for my half-marathon, but I know I can do it! I hope this challenge will help me become a stronger runner and woman. I also hope it will help me grow mentally and physically :)

So, you make ask: Why do this 30 day yoga Challenge?!?!?!
(Well, Fiance asked me that, and here is what I told him.)

1. Because I LOVE yoga: I started taking yoga over the summer and absolutely fell in love with it. I think a lot of it had to do with the studio I was taking it also. I love the way my body feels after a class, and I love what it has done for my running. (Especially because I suck at stretching!)

2. I love a Challenge: Right now, I am training for a half-marathon and it's not much of a challenge for me at the moment, because I am so used to running. I am the type of person who loves to be challenged, I need to be challenged. So with this yoga challenge, I will push my body to do something it's not used to.

3. The Benefits: I have seen so many changes in my body by taking yoga 3 times a week. I can only imagine what will happen if I take it every day for the next month. Yoga has benefited my running in so many ways that I only hope it will enhance my running on race day :)

4. My Injury; because running is so hard for me right now, I need something that will keep me sane! :)

I am super excited for this challenge and even more excited I won't be doing it alone! SO please cheer me on :)

xoxo
